Karabakh status quo cannot be maintained, but there can be no military solution as well: F.Mogherini
Peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a priority for the European Union. High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of European Commission Federica Mogherini said about the aforementioned during the press conference in Armenian President’s Residence. “The status quo cannot be maintained, but there can be no military solution as well. The conflict must be settled peacefully,” F.Mogherini said.
She added that the EU supports the efforts of ISCE Minsk Group co-chairs, aimed at peaceful resolution of the conflict, based on Madrid principles. “The reduction of tension in recent times is also significant, at the same time it’s necessary to refrain from military rhetoric and increase of violence,” Mogherini mentioned.
She also noted that the European Union supports mInsk Group co-chairs over the introduction of investigative mechanisms in the conflict zone.
