Edward Nalbandian sees no Alternative to Peaceful Settlement of Karabakh Conflict
Steps and bellicose rhetoric, causing aggravation of the situation in Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone, are harmful and contribute to the preservation of the status quo, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told in the interview with reporters, in Armenian President’s residence summarizing results of the meeting with Federica Mogherini.
“We agree with the European Union and the Co-Chairs that preservation of the status quo is not in the interests of the parties. However, it is evident that steps contributing to the aggravation of the situation, refusal of exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict, attempts to change the negotiating format, refusal of the creation of an investigative mechanism and bellicose rhetoric are harmful and contribute to the preservation of the status quo,” Armenian FM emphasized.
Nalbandian reaffirmed Armenia’s position that there is no alternative to negotiations on peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict.
