Tigran Mansurian at “Personnel Office N168”: “Youth”
Movie offer by renowned composer Tigran Mansurian is at this week’s “Personnel office N168.” Famous drama “Youth” (Italian “La giovinezza”) by Paolo Sorrentino has been shot quite recently—in 2015, in Italy, which as Maestro Mansurian mentioned to 168.am, he managed to watch 7 times.
“This is the life of two elders, who spend their vacation in one of sanitariums in the Alps. One of them still sees himself in the bloomy period of creative work, and the other has already given up. Ending of the film is quite surprising, as we edify how the one believing in his capabilities, is severely defeated, and the other, who seemed to settle all his issues with the existence and was solely living, raises on the stage with the baton and conducts the orchestra at the concert. A very nice movie. There is such a wise and subtle world in this movie. I offered lots of people to watch this film, and again, when I went to the store, where I order movies on DVD, the assistant said many people came to take this very movie. I said I advised this move to lots of people. Turned out, I am the praiser of the movie…(smiles-N.M.) I must have watched this movie for 7 times, as layers hidden in the film are quite catching, which I reveal every time and I wonder why I didn’t notice that nuance before. When for the last time I watched the movie and understood that I completely revealed the movie for me, I put it aside, so that one day I’ll miss and watch it again,” the Maestro introduced.
Reflections of harmonious lifestyle of the hero approaching to the sunset of his life, against the influential background of the Alps, is Paolo Sorrentino’s last movie, actors of which are Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Rachel Weisz, Jane Fonda. Despite the circumstance that “Youth” was released quite recently, however, the film managed to win awards of authoritative film festivals, like—Cannes “Palme d’or” (Golden Palm), Karlovy Vary “Audience award,” and two awards Italian “Golden Globe.”
