Made in Armenia: Filming Locations of Favorite Movies on Armenian Movie Trip

All those, who love watching movies and travelling, dream to be in filming locations of their favorite movies, now may make use of Movie Trip website and application. It establishes contact between real and virtual worlds, allowing cinephiles be in all places, where actions of the movie took place.

Movie Trip also separates place, which have any connection with the film heroes. Every place has its address, map, movie cadre, description of location, citations and social network tools, which will allow the user see activation of their friends in the application.

Website or application will help to know addresses of places in the movie, watch cadres, see the map, read phrases form the movie and get acquainted with description of the scene.

Authors of the project are Mher Sargsyan, Artavazd Yeghiazaryan and Ashot Gasparyan. Movie database is calculated by them, however, it’s planned, that in future exactly all users will have this possibility.

Movie Trip will help to find sights of famous Armenian and foreign movies.

“There are more than 350 movies in our database and about 4000 scenes. Some tens of them are in Armenia: “Men,” “Mechanics of happiness,” and etc. However, up to now cities with the most scenes are New York and Paris,” Artavazd Yeghiazaryan told 168.am.

The issue of movies shot in the studio has also been settled. In such cases real address of film shooting is mentioned.

Initial variant of Movie Trip has already been released for Android. Artavazd Yeghiazaryan says reviews are quite positive.

“As we supposed, this topic—combination of movie and travelling, is interesting to lots of people. Besides, users highly assessed the design and usability of the application,” A.Yeghiazaryan mentioned.

Ashot Gasparyan, one of authors of the project, in an interview with 168.am mentioned that soon it’ll be released for iOS as well.

Movie Trip was the winner of grant program of Gyumri co-financing contest by Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) funded by RA Ministry of Economy and World Bank.
