Armenia Completely Supports Policy Pursued by Russia in Syria: Serzh Sargsyan

Meeting of presidents of RF Vladimir Putin and of RA Serzh Sargsyan has commenced in Russia’s capital—Moscow, Russian TASS news agency reports. During the meeting in line with other issues RA president Serzh Sargsyan expressed his view on Syrian crisis.

“I state once more that we defend Russia’s disposition regarding Syrian crisis. We welcome its agreement with the USA on cease-fire and commitment of peaceful settlement of the issue,” S.Sargsyan stated.

RA president expressed his gratitude to RF president in supporting settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh issue and assured, that Armenian party continues to be loyal to its peaceful settlement.

During the meeting RF president Vladimir Putin offered RA president Serzh Sargsyan to discuss issues on economic cooperation between Russia and Armenia as well. During the meeting of the presidents Vladimir Putin qualified Armenian-Russian relations as strategic partnership.

“Our relations are successfully developing. Of course, objective reasons exist as well,” Putin stated.

He also added that economic cooperation between the two is deepening.

“On the whole, we are satisfied with how we have built the basis for our relations. Based on former joint resolutions, I have no doubt, that we will deepen cooperation in this direction as well,” RF president said.

Putin also stated that this year Armenia governs in CSTO.

“I expect, we’ll succeed to talk to you as governor of that international organization, as this very organization is responsible for security, fight against terror, organized crime, so that everything were calm on our borders,” he said.

He also offered RF president to discuss issues regarding cooperation within Eurasian Economic Union.
