Naryshkin: Middle East terrorist groups are real threat for CSTO countries
In the current situation the most realistic threat for the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization are the terrorist groups of the Middle East , which operate in Syria and overall in that explosive region. Chairman of the Russian State Duma, CSTO PA Chairman Sergey Naryshkin said during a meeting with reporters after the outgoing session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. “We are witnessing a situation where the ” Islamic State”terrorist group kills people, destroys objects of world cultural heritage, tries to hide behind Islam, however, has nothing to do with Islam”, Naryshkin saying.
He noted that during the outgoing session in Yerevan issues related to the fight against terrorism were discussed.”Overall, the organization has established a sufficient base for neutralizing terrorist and extremist threats. Today we have received detailed information from CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha on the opportunities to prevent these threats “the CSTO PA Chairman added.
A delegation from Serbia also participated in the session as an observer. Concluding his speech, Sergey Naryshkin thanked the Armenian partners for providing comfortable working conditions.
