Who Financed the Grouping Neutralized in Nork and Did it Plot Murder against Serzh Sargsyan?
Last November the well-known group neutralized by NSS didn’t attempt murder against Serzh Sargsyan. Mikayel Hambardzumyan, First Deputy Chief of Investigation Department of NSS, told about this reporters today, replying to the question whether we may state that murder has been plotted against Serzh Sargsyan.
“No. For the time being I can officially state that separate members of the group tried to circulate likewise program, i.e. different options have been proposed to implement the intention. However, these programs, have been refused by Artur Vardanyan, head of the grouping, and it has been anticipated to implement concrete actions towards objects mentioned by me,” Mikayel Hambardzumyan said.
To the question whether the information, that the grouping plotted to explode personal plane of Serzh Sargsyan, is close to the reality, M.Hambardzumyan said such an idea was circulated among the grouping,
“Likewise idea has been circulated in the grouping. Even certain actions have been implemented by the members of the grouping, however, final program, agreement hasn’t been initiated by Artur Vardanyan, organizer of the grouping, it was only on discussion level.
It refers the possibility of implementing such an activity during the departure of the president for the meeting with the president of Azerbaijan on December 1. Moreover, exact place, form where it’s possible to implement, has been discussed.
Not detailing exactly what location it’s being talked about (sure, location near “Zvartnots” airport), we have inspected the location. I may say, that physically it was possible to implement, to our assessment, as during landing and taking off the plane is at rather low height and is reachable. However, at the same time, I repeat, decision wasn’t made by Artur Vardanyan, and it was only on discussion level.
Mikayel Hambardzumyan also stated that during investigation of the criminal case, it was clarified who was financing the grouping, he is charged for a criminal case, “Source of money is clear to us, the grouping was financed by USD 65 thousand.”
He didn’t mention the name of the accused, however stating that he lives in Armenia, and functions in the country. To the observation , that there were publications in media outlets that representatives of Serzh Sargsyan’s circle supported members of the grouping, M.Hambardzumyan said it’s unsubstantiated information, far from the reality, “Such information completely lacks in the case.” There are no officials engaged in the case.
