MFA Armenia: International Community Must Take Practical Steps to Sober up Azerbaijan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has issued a statement harshly condemning the provocative measures of the armed forces of Azerbaijan on Karabakh-Azerbaijan contact line. As 168.am was informed from the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of MFA Armenia, the statement reads as follows,

“We strictly condemn the military operations unleashed by Azerbaijani armed forces along the entire Karabakh-Azerbaijan contact line and Armenian border this night, targeting also civilian facilities and settlements.

The persistent steps by Azerbaijan to wreck the negotiation process, and the recent denial by Azerbaijan to meet with Minsk Group Co-chairs, the military operations unleashed by Azerbaijan in a larger scale are another failed attempt of Azerbaijan to speak in the language of blackmail.

Baku harshly violates the numerous calls of the international community to settle the issue through negotiations. Only in the recent days the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs, German OSCE Chairmanship, Vice President of the USA, and the US Secretary of State made such announcements. This is the way Azerbaijan responds to those calls.

We have drawn the attention of the international community for many times, urged them to refrain Azerbaijan from military aspirations, considering just a scenario of the form Azerbaijan carries out today.

This regular attempt of Azerbaijan to escalate the situation, considering the scale of its largeness and selection of targets speaks about the fact that Azerbaijan pursues a path of consistent escalation, which makes it imperative for the international community to take practical steps to sober up Azerbaijan”.
