Resignations, without which the War will Continue
“Hurling stones at diplomats like soldiers standing in front of the adversary, is immoral, as the diplomat is the same soldier in external war,” Edward Nalbandyan, RA MFA, expressed this viewpoint this February, while introducing the results of MFA activity for 2015, which, naturally, caught the eye with achievements only. It’s difficult to say, did Edward Nalbandyan know 2 months before, or was he anticipating what will go on in the night of April 2 on Karabakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact?
It’s difficult to say, did the favorite of our MFA—Russia (PM of which states they follow the movement on the Line of Contact, accordingly, they knew that Azerbaijan was planning an attack) inform Nalbandyan on Azerbaijan’s aggression, naturally, on condition of knowing and not saying. Obviously, by his boundless diplomatic formulation of “hauling stones at the diplomats” Nalbandyan seemingly insures him from present-day criticism.
As Nalbandyan might at least guess, that in case of Azerbaijani aggression, they’ll talk more and deeply in Armenia on the fact that Azerbaijan killed the Armenian soldiers and peaceful civilians by arms, which Russia has sold. And he was the leader of those justifiers, who, as compared to many Armenian “experts” and “citizens”, was doing it on international platforms and media outlets, and, the most crucial point is, implementing it by using the status of RA Foreign Minister. Maybe this was the reason that he was saying, “hauling stones at diplomats is immorality.”
In fact, morality, reaching to the degree of diminished responsibility, could only make not to speak in PACE, firstly, as a result of the formula on Sarsang reservoir adopted by Armenia’s shameful diplomacy, which Nalbandyan called a “technical” document, and that very Nalbandyan, making reference to Azerbaijani propaganda, was assessing it as a “piece of paper.” Interestingly enough, did Nalbandyan understand at least after April 2, that the very “piece of paper” provided Azerbaijan the opportunity to resume attack just from this very part, which leads to Sarsang reservoir?
It’s interesting to know, did Nalbandyan understand that in case of non-suspension by Nagorno Karabakh Defense army, Azerbaijan would introduce its invasion as “implementation of PACE formula.”
From April 2 it became finally clear, that Armenia, not having foreign policy, moreover, doesn’t have a ministry of foreign affairs, and in particular, a minister called the one. Edward Nalbandyan is the living edifice to absence of Armenia’s foreign policy. After April 2, however, processes have been developed on public-political platform, directed to restoration of lost sovereignty.
It will necessarily demand resignations, part of which will necessarily be noisy, with corresponding grounding and revelations. After that resignation and by it, restoration of foreign policy, exclusively serving Armenia’s interest should be implemented.
And there is no need to bother for the destiny of Edward Nalbandyan. Surely, a job will be found for him in Moscow. Accordingly, not in the Embassy to Armenia.
