RTR Apologizes to “Eurovision” Representatives of Armenia and the Netherlands
Singer Anastasia Stotskaya, who was excluded from the jury of “Eurovision-2016” song contest, stated she was glad, that representative of Russia Sergey Lazarev didn’t suffer, RIA Novosti reported.
Earlier European Broadcasting Union (EBU) informed on its official Facebook page, that “the EBU has been investigating a video recording made and published by a member of the Russian jury, during the judging for the first Semi-Final of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest at last night’s dress rehearsal. Following constructive talks between EBU and RTR, Russia’s participating broadcaster, RTR proposed to withdraw the respective jury member who produced the video recording. As a consequence, the EBU declared the voting result of the respective judge invalid.”

RTR apologized to representatives of Armenia and the Netherlands. In Periscope video recording Stotskaya commented on their performances. She named performance by Douwe Bob a “good one,” and regarding Iveta Mukuchyan, she said, “My husband is Armenian, I support Armenians.”
Note, the first semi-final was held yesterday in Stockholm, the second semi-final will be launched on May 12, and the final—on May 14.
