Azerbaijan Attempts to Denounce its Athlete Defeated by Albert Ghazaryan
Azerbaijan attempts to denounce its athlete, who was defeated by Albert Ghazaryan, winner of OFS 8 international tournament.
Hayk Ghukasyan, trainer of Albert Ghazaryan, adviser of RA Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, head of “Armfighting” Federation, told this at today’s press conference.
“Azerbaijan attempts to work by a few phases. Firstly, when Azerbaijani athlete was defeated, they raised the question of disqualifying Albert Ghazaryan. When they failed, they started circulating the news, that Albert’s contestant was a Kazakh. Firstly, he holds an Azerbaijani passport, besides, if he belongs to different nationality, what is this anxiety by Azerbaijan explained by?”
As for the tournament, Hayk Ghazaryan stated, that Albert Ghazaryan’s contestant—the Azerbaijani athlete, challenged Albert, trying to become a hero. The Azerbaijani athlete earlier stated that Albert Ghazaryan isn’t prepared and he can win in 5 minutes.
“It didn’t occur. Albert won him on the 57th second. If there was any doubt, that we’ll lose, we wouldn’t participate. We have gone there for victory,” Hayk Ghukasyan said.
Speaking of his emotions, Albert Ghazaryan said this one was quite different from the others.
“I had lots of competitors, but this time feelings were different, and I felt great responsibility, and it was inspiring both me and other Armenian athletes. I was preparing with all responsibility, ignoring fatigue. I had to win,” said Albert Ghazaryan, who dedicated his victory in memory of Armenian soldiers and servicemen fallen during the April four-day war.
Hayk Ghukasyan stated, that in near future they intend to spread that martial art in the army as well, which will help soldiers to be more prepared.
