Authorities Switch over to Counteroffensive
Hopes expressed by some people throughout the April war, that authorities will learn their lesson, have vanished like the dust from Russian “Solntsepyok” applied by Azerbaijan. In the period of a few days of war, representatives of the authorities seemingly have realized criminality of their actions and inactivity, and by realizing that, are manifesting comparatively equivalent behavior.
However, it’s relatively calm on the border and representatives of the authorities go over to counteroffensive. Naturally, against the society. As during the war the society was the one to raise issues. And that very society was finding answers to them. As those days the authorities were restrained and didn’t dare reply to the society. And answers found by the society were coming to separate representatives of the authorities, illegal origin of the property of the superrich, and methods of returning them to the state.
The society was thinking of returning what was looted from them. And naturally enough, representatives of the authorities have switched on to counteroffensive. As in case of Azerbaijani aggression the society was the implementer of the counterattack by its representatives in the Armed Forces, and the authorities, by their representatives, launched ripostes to the society, which, in their opinion, has the only function of providing a number during elections and to consume production of their businesses, and shouldn’t have the function of raising issues.
“Claims for dismissing advisers and assistants to officials are populist,” says the intellectual representative of the authorities David Harutyunyan, who, besides writing constitution, also holds the position of head-minister in the Government. “As much as I worked in other countries, neither you, nor people surrounding you, nor the one funding you, isn’t able to work. As compared to some people, I brought money to the country, and they steal it from other’s pocket and give it to you, and I brought it from abroad,” says Vardan Ayvazyan with quite a different fame among the authorities.
“Should we start waging an internal civil war or start emptying Armenia. Is this what you desire?” says Vahram Baghdasaryan, with an uncertain fame, reflecting to the issue of castles and properties of the officials. Instances on cynical statements by representatives of the authorities have overwhelmed the press and the internet. Meaning of those and likewise statements leads to the following—yes, we looted, and will go on looting. As no one, who is an authority for David Harutyunyan, doesn’t explain to him, that Armenia is an average corporation-scale unit, which may be efficiently managed by dozens of professionals, without any assistant or an advisor.
As the same way, anyone who is an “authority” for Vardan Ayvazyan, doesn’t explain to him, that the country shouldn’t be managed by “the psychology of a migrant worker” and corresponding inspections on his belongings haven’t been launched only for the reason, that legality of the property of inspectors is as much dubious as theirs. As the same way nobody explains to Vahram Baghdasaryan with understandable-degree simplicity, that clarifying the legality of accumulated property by means looted from the state is not a civil war, but a means to prevent a civil war. And nobody explains that throughout a few years by a few hundred thousand people Armenia has “emptied”, as he says due to “our own friends” As a result of the April war the status quo has been violated not only on Karabakh-Azerbaijan border, but in Armenia’s internal life as well. And meanwhile some people still hope, that the authorities will attempt to restore the violated status quo on the frontline, representatives of the authorities are busy restoring internal status quo. Elections are ahead.
