President of Azerbaijan, Looking at Me and the Co-chairs, Says We have Initiated the April Process: Serzh Sargsyan
“President of Azerbaijan, looking at me and the Co-chairs says that we have initiated the April process. I’m sure, you imagine my reply. President of Azerbaijan has repeatedly stated, that Azerbaijan only wants to settle the issue peacefully,” Serzh Sargsyan, RA president, said to the reporters while returning to Yerevan from Vienna.
“We shouldn’t pay much attention to the achievement of these agreements on account of our past experience, as I mentioned, we have had 20 meetings, agreed on many things during these meetings, but returning to Baku, the president of Azerbaijan has made completely different statements. Life will show the results. The crucial point for us is the following: Co-chairs should be once again convinced, that, first, our objective is not maintaining the status quo, and that to wage a lasting war. We wish to solve our problem peacefully; we wish not to have unnecessary casualties.
I don’t want to speak of war, as I myself saw what is war and I wouldn’t like everyone to see that. The only case when war is justified, is when you are obliged, you have no way out, and you need to defend your motherland.
We have made a choice long ago, our people have made a choice long ago, and the Azerbaijani provocation in April showed that, however, we’ll do our best so that those developments weren’t repeated,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
