Issuance of Visa to ICT Specialists is Being Settled

“Synopsys Armenia” company with its staff of 750 and regarded as Armenia’s largest ICT company, has faced the issue of not getting U.S. visa the most. However, as company CEO Hovik Musayelyan informed at today’s press conference, the issue is being settled, and they hope it’ll be totally settled in near future.

Ha stated that they were trying to understand reasons of non-issuance of entrance visas, linking it with political issues, then with time they understood the reason. “If during former 15 years we didn’t have a single yellow card, so many red cards throughout last 2 years made us angry. Finally we understood, that the real reason is issuance of working visa. It came not from Armenia, but from other countries. Employers sent their employees to the United States, and it turned out, that the latter worked and didn’t pay the taxes there. Non-issuance was conditioned by this very reason,” Hovik Musayelyan said.

In his words, in case of specialists leaving from Armenia it’s impossible, as their overwhelming majority go to participate in short-term trainings, business meetings and not for working.
