Who’s going to Leave the Authorities Next?
Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan submitted resignation on August 4. President Serzh Sargsyan accepted it. It has been officially stated that the reason for resignation are Prosecutor General’s health problems. At the same time president press speaker stated that he hopes that after recovery Gevorg Kostanyan’s capabilities will be used to solve state issues.
To say that Kostanyan’s resignation was surprising means saying nothing. Moreover, even in case, if ground for officially submitted resignation corresponds to the reality, and he really has health problems, then under the existent situation and on account of other numerous factors, it’s the same, Kostanyan’s resignation speaks of quite different issues, rather than health ones. Finally, vacation may be formulated to solve health problems, particularly, on account of the obvious reality, that these days Kotanyan’s resignation will be observed as an implication for July 17 developments.
Thus, it’s not difficult to notice that the authorities didn’t put forward the issue at least to postpone publication of Gevorg Kostanyan’s resignation. Just the contrary, they put forward the issue, by publishing it these days, giving ground to draw conclusions.
Who leaves the authorities by the resignation of Gevorg Kostanyan? What does Serzh Sargsyan show to the system by accepting the resignation? Who will surprise next by leaving, who, basically leave, instead of other officials, who should leave the system? Replies to these and other questions will be known from Serzh Sargsyan’s forthcoming steps.
And prior to that the society will continue asking why Gevorg Kostanyan and not Vladimir Gasparyan? The Police Chief should have already resigned not only due to atrocities of July 29, but, first and foremost, for the reason that the police precinct seized on July 17 is under his control. However, the Police Chief not only doesn’t submit resignation, but actively implements cadre changes, seemingly to show, that nothing has happened and he continues the same “cadre lego game,” by which he’s been busy since he’s been appointed a Police Chief.
As for health problems, it should be recorded that after July 17 the one to have the most serious health problems could be the very Vladimir Gasparyan for shortcomings in the sense of responsibility, as well as professional, human. However, thanks Goodness, he not only doesn’t have health problems, but after some passiveness resumed work with the same vigor and enthusiasm, like before.
P.S. Under formal, declaration slogans on protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, in fact, in Armenia all human, without any exception, rights are being trespassed, including having health problems of any citizen, including the right of a high-ranking official. It’s being violated to the sense that due to the atmosphere created by the authorities the society doesn’t believe any information they provide. Even if it refers human health. Despite anything, we wish Gevorg Kostanyan speedy recovery.
