Armenia’s Symbol of USD 4.8 mln
Alienation of Government building N2 has reached to its final stage. “Tango” Company belonging to Argentinian Armenian Eduardo Eurnekian has paid USD 4.8 million to the Armenian Government. Currently it’s being actively discussed which part of that amount will be directed to which purpose, and particularly, hole or crack of which street will be covered from the share allocated to Yerevan city.
Everything is rather normal and natural. The issue seems not to be subject for discussion, as naturally, it’s technical or organizational—the state alienated one of its buildings, instead the new one has been constructed, and much money was paid for that. Everything is normal and natural. If, of course, we don’t take into consideration symbolism of the occurrence and by it—the tragedy, and by that tragedy—the irreversibility.
It’s said that generally in life, and particularly in politics, nothing happens accidentally. And if it’s so, then nothing is accidental, is strictly natural and without an alternative, that today in Armenia the issue of management of selling of one building is being touched upon in Armenia not only by its Tamanyan nature, but also by functional importance and the role in the life of the state.
This building, which was that of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been alienated long ago, 2 or 3, maybe 5.5 years ago. However, the money was paid now, on the threshold of 25th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia. Probably, conditioned by random coincidence, in fact, it’s cynical, offending and degrading. As it’s taking place in a period, which is Armenia’s most non-independent period, Armenia’s almost zero independence period, which is the period seeming closest to Armenia’s final loss of independence. Armenia sold the building, the ministry functioning in which, the one responsible for Armenia’s foreign policy, has consumed Armenia’s all components of independence, made Armenia’s independence a senseless tattoo meant for Syrian Armenian, which, at best is placed under the flag of another country, in an invisible corner.
There is not only symbolism and tragedy in the history of selling the MFA building, but also sincerity, deceit. In fact, Armenia has sold its independence, however, it wants cash only for the office, which has sold Armenia’s independence. As what was paid for the independence was received by those, who measure and assess the state and statehood by the volume of green banknotes, although they’re paid no only in green, but also by in multicolor ruble, which is the most valueless means of payment for Armenia’s independence client.
Thus, what should have been historically repeated, has been repeated—even for Armenia’s independence it’s not being paid, as it’s being paid to those, who made the purchase deal of independence possible.
They say, generally in life, and particularly in politics, nothing happens by chance. And if it’s so, then nothing is accidental, but strictly natural, that MFA building was purchased by Robert Kocharyan’s partner Eurnekian, who turned the Republic of Armenia into a limited liability company.
Let God keep and maintain collective memory of Armenian people, in which room should be kept for independence of the third Republic of Armenia.
