Dieu Seul est Grand —The Motto of Michel de Nostredame: Visit to Nostradamus Museum
My next destination in southern France was 54 km southeast from Marseille—to Salon-de-Provence, which pretends to be one of the main tourist attractions in the region, and here famous French astrologist, physician Michel de Nostredame (Nostradamus) lived and created for many years, became father of 6 children and died.

Here, in this very house Nostredame moved for permanent residence in 1574, already as a prominent physician and astrologist.

Prior to moving to Salon-de-Provence, Nostredame had travelled over the word for 8 years, then spent a few years studying in Avignon in southern France, where he was given the title “Master of Arts,” studying all possible ways of using plants and flowers for medical purposes.
Every step in Salon-de-Provence reminds of presence of the prominent astrologist
Avoiding from religious prosecutions, Nostredame forcedly leaves his wife and two children here and departs. After a short period his two sons become victims of the plague generated in France.

After such developments life of Michel de Nostredame, according to the studying historians, undergoes radical changes. The astrologist devotes himself to deep study of the science of Cicero, as well as reflects to astrology and astronomy. Nostredame passes all possible stages of study of the Space, coming to the conclusion, which may be found in his noted “Century” manuscript, “The Earth given to us is the first degree of celestial paradise, by which the believers may raise till the divine Heaven and reach God. ONLY GOD IS GREAT (Dieu seul est grand).” It’s said that this was the motto of life of Michel de Nostredame.
The manuscript of “Century” is kept in the house-museum. Walls of the museum are also illustrated by handwritten pieces
As an astrologist, through the calculations of astrological cycles, based on the studies of Nostredame, it’s possible to clearly calculate the way of human life, on the basis of which he created the Grand Calendar (Le Grand Calendrier), which is considered the second grand scientific heritage after “Century.”
There is a big hall in the museum for the “Grand Calendar”
Yet prior to the “Grand Calendar” and “Century” Nostredame was financially secure and materially independent, to which the latter reached through brilliant results, recorded in astrology. Existence of wax figures and history edify that in this very house in Salon-de-Provence Catherine de’ Medici, Queen of France, Charles IX of France visited him, and King Chares IX, continues to regularly visit Nostredame and award him with the high rank of King’s advisor and appointed him as the royal family doctor.

And although, according to predictions of the astrologist, the planet Earth shouldn’t have existed long ago, as well as the humanity, everything is in its regular place, and 168.am continues its itinerary from the south of France.
