Aleppo Armenian Vardan Boyajyan needs our help
It’s been 7 months as Vardan Boyajyan, who lost his family house in Aleppo during the Syrian war, and fled to Lebanon, then to Armenia, lives in Yerevan, in the guesthouse of Armenian Church. He failed to find work and his wife was back to Lebanon recently with their 2 underage children, arevelk.am reports.
51 year-old Vardan couldn’t return to Lebanon with his family, as his illness Hepatitis C, revealed in Aleppo, sharpened again. Doctors in Armenia advised him to start the treatment as soon as possible, however he doesn’t have the necessary money to start initial treatment (USD 2500). He said he gave blood to the wounded in Aleppo and was infected by Hepatitis C.
Our compatriot applied to Armenian Ministries of Diaspora and Health and received the answer that there is no free treatment for it in Armenian hospitals.
Boyajyan, who is a builder and unable to work due to his illness, wants to join his family after the initial treatment. He says that with the help of his knowledge of English and French, he’ll be able to find a job.
Vardan frequently visits the guesthouse of the Church to dine. To cover his expenses he sells the items he brought from Syria.
