The NA approves Government’s action plan

The National Assembly approved the action plan submitted by the Government with 85 for, 7 against and 6 abstained votes. Prior to the voting in his concluding remarks PM Karen Karapetyan reflected to speeches by the MPs, stating that some were interesting and logic of some of them was not clear to him.

He stated that they’re open for proposals, advice, criticism, however, he’d like them to be object,

“We say to our Rule of Law partners—you wrote fight against corruption, everybody wrote it—shouldn’t have we written? ANC partners say we haven’t done diagnosis. You’re right, we haven’t, we wrote that we should implement, and what we need to do, 20 days aren’t enough.”

The PM intended to cover observations by PAP MPs, however, he confused the name, saying Prosperous Republican, which burst laughter in the hall. He apologized, but he didn’t utter the name of PAP, only stating—Prosperous says the plan is a good one, however there is no readiness to implement it. How should we have formulated that readiness, gives us a hint,” the PM said.

NA MP Alexander Arzumanyan said he hadn’t posed any questions and delivered any speech, as experience shows that nothing changes from that.

“I don’t want to state that it’s a salvation plan or it’s impossible to change anything. Tales have been much touched upon, we aren’t at the age to believe in them, however, we also realize that the public can’t be deprived of hope, and some hope has emerged by your appointment,” the MP said, adding that he’ll vote abstained and will follow the Government’s activity.

Levon Zurabyan, ANC Faction Head, stated that they can’t express trust towards any Government introduced by the leading political party, that’s why they’ll vote against.
