Armenian NPP complies with all contemporary security demands: Ivan Volinkin

Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) complies with all contemporary security demands. Russia’s Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volinkin told Arminfo, replying to the question whether Armenian NPP is a threat to the region, as  Azerbaijan, Turkey and the West claim.

“It’s important to implement correct exploitation and maintenance. It’s done on a high level, there are good specialists in Armenia, who serve that station. I consider there is no any threat here. We all perfectly realize that it’s impossible without nuclear energy, and natural resources like gas and oil are being consumed, and nuclear energy has a considerable role in energy production,

In Armenia, like in many countries of the world, and in European countries, the USA, Russia, its share is increasing. It’s necessary to attentively follow its exploitation,” the Ambassador said.
