Karen Karapetyan’s tenure showed that he is a man of action: Serzh Sargsyan

Within the frameworks of “Question to the President” heading initiated by “168 Hours” Serzh Sargsyan replied to the first question, which is introduced below.

Mr. President, at the RPA Congress you stated that Karen Karapetyan will keep his position if the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) receives trust vote at 2017 Parliamentary elections. Actually, you condition Karen Karapetyan’s tenure with election results. To which extent is continuity of his stay in the office conditioned by productivity of the Government’s activity? If no economic changes are recorded, but RPA will have majority in the Parliament, will Karen Karapetyan be the Prime Minister?

First of all I announced during the RPA Congress that our priority is to organize and hold spotless elections in spring of 2017. Yes, I also announced that in case receiving vote of confidence at the upcoming elections our government will once again be headed by Karen Karapetyan, by continuing to implement the already outlined action plan.

It’s difficult to give assessment to the activity of the Government in 5-6 months, if considerable failures aren’t recorded. At the same time, I’m sure that the culture of administration, working style and approaches adopted by Karen Karapetyan, are promising.

This short period of Karen Karapetyan’s tenure showed that he, indeed, is a man of action. Today the Prime Minister has given new breath and freshness to the Government’s work, showing that the only way to solve problems is the modern flexible and effective administration. He has already formed positive expectations among the society through his activity, and I am convinced he will succeed in implementing the Government’s ideas.
