Iranian president Hassan Rouhani warmly thanked the Armenian Government, Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan, people of Armenia for hospitality. According to him, it’s important that the two friendly and neighboring states were able to use each other’s potential in favor of the two nations and the whole region. Rouhani considers that people of the two have a big capital, which is a result of long-term relations and common civilization.
“Existence of Iranian Armenians in Iran is considered a very strong connecting link between Armenia and Iran, and we should make best use of those possibilities. To do that both governments should be able to provide conditions for traders and businessmen, economic sector entrepreneurs of both countries. Possible obstacles should be eliminated. The first crucial circumstance is that there is a strong political will between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran and that will is of utmost importance to be assertive on a high level, it’ll be easier to eliminate issues and probable obstacles. I noticed that will during the meeting with the president and during the press conference, Armenia’s authorities have desire to develop our relations.
An important step has been taken—it was defining of non-visa regime. Mr. president stated regarding tourism that it’s only one field, when non-visa regime is necessary, it’s defined for trade, scientific, entertainment, education purposes, mutual visits may be easily paid. Mr. Prime Minister stated today that we should be able to establish connection between the two countries through cheap airplanes.
I’m very happy, that they told me that from now on people of Meghri and Agarak may use Iranian gas. This means that we edify the result of invested efforts, gas may contribute to Armenia’s development, and houses will be warm as are their hearts,” Rouhani said.
