If that were to happen, it would mark two deadly encounters for Nagorno-Karabakh in the span of just nine months. It will do little to buoy the spirits of the citizens here, but it might finally remind the world that this long-ignored frozen conflict has begun to drastically heat up.
“Judging from the recent developments taking place in the Nagorno KarabakhAzerbaijan line of contact, there is such an impression that the Azerbaijani side has chosen a tactic to gradually and intentionally escalate the situation in the frontline.”
The Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh has released images of a damaged vehicle of the ministry, which came under fire when Azerbaijani forces fired AGS-17 type grenade launchers overnight October 6-7 in the northern direction of the line of contact.
The Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh informed that the Defense Army soldier was wounded by the Azerbaijani shooting in one of the military units located in the southern direction of the NKR Defense Army.
The next signal of not waiting for speedy changes was given through budget draft 2017. It was stated that a rather tough budget will be available, expenditures will be considerably reduced.
“New means should be applied to influence over the presidents, otherwise waiting means a threat for resumption of military operations,” Stanislav Tarasov clarified.
“They learned the lesson, that the state of affairs on the negotiation table and the situation on Karabakh-Azerbaijan contact line requires particular attention, high soberness, as different intriguing, adventurous programs may continue formulating, thus, surely, high soberness is necessary not to allow outbreak of incidents on the contact line, moreover, outbreak of military operations and their generation.”
According to Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan’s decision Armen Hayrapetyan was appointed Deputy Minister of Finance.
