During the government’s last session on December 29, 2016 PM Karen Karapetyan, applying to Artur Javadyan, Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), asked whether CBA will constantly reduce refinancing rate.
“We do not recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent state,” the Ministry’s information and press department said. “We consider that its status should be determined through political talks in the framework of the Minsk process.”
Yekaterina Lapshina, wife of the extradited blogger Alexander Lapshin said her husband’s attorney is already working in Baku. Yekaterina said via her husband’s Facebook account, “There is a bit of positive progress. Yesterday our lawyer began working in Baku. The two Ministers reiterated their commitment to strictly observe their international humanitarian obligations including those of the Astrakhan Declaration of October 2010 issued by the Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the Russian Federation.
“Should Moscow work instead of anyone? This isn’t the scenario. And as compromise isn’t so favorable to the sides, enough resources for pressure lack as well, and even if they exist, why should they be implemented? On account of this Moscow is led by the following logic: ”we shouldn’t allow the situation grow into uncontrollable conflict, then you should also be initiative.”
