Drones to be used in Armenia for environmental protection

GIZ (Germany’s International Cooperation Company) organized an educational training on operating unmanned aerial vehicles in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Specialists of the ecotourism development and management of special nature preservation areas of the bioresources management agency of Armenia’s ministry of nature protection, specialists of the Forest Monitoring organization of the agriculture ministry and Hakobean nature protection center of the AUA, as well as environmental experts of Georgia participated in the training.

The lecturers were invited from Switzerland and were presenting the Swiss-made EBEE drones and its capacities. The specifications of the drones and operation modes and decoding possibilities were presented. The acquired skills were practically used in field conditions outside Tbilisi.

It is planned to use the drones in Armenia as well. They will enable to carry our biodiversity monitoring, observing and other research works, which will make nature protection supervision more efficient.
