China demands US to stop THAAD deployment in South Korea
China has demanded to immediately suspend the deployment of the US THAAD – Terminal High Altitude Area Defense – systems in South Korea.
“China’s stance regarding THAAD remains unchanged. We oppose the deployment of this system by the US in the Republic of Korea and we call upon the relevant sides to immediately stop this process. We are ready to take necessary measures to protect our interests’, a Chinese foreign ministry official said.
