Macron ahead in polls after heated Le Pen debate
French citizens have named presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron as the winner of the television debate with rival Marine Le Pen. Polling results show 63% of those who tuned in for the heated debated said Macron has won. 34% voted for Le Pen.
The poll was carried out by Elabe research institute. Macron is ahead of polls in Figaro newspaper’s survey as well. The second round of France’s presidential election will be held on May 7.
