Jean-Marie Le Pen weighs in on daughter’s defeat in France election

Founder of France’s National Front party Jean-Marie Le Pen, 88, announced that his daughter, Marine Le Pen, didn’t win the presidential election because of her stance on withdrawing from the Eurozone and the European Union, Reuters reports.

“I believe we must speak about real problems with France, about mass immigration and demographic issues,” he told RTL Radio.

In his opinion, Florian Philipot, Nation Front’s deputy leader, is one of the people who is responsible for Marine Le Pen’s defeat. After the defeat, Marine Le Pen has said the National Front must be ‘restarted’, while Philipot said the new party will have a different name.
