Changes to be made in government, but not significant: Karen Karapetyan
There are going to be changes in the newly forming government of Armenia, but they won’t be significant, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan told reporters in the Victory Park on May 9.
“Whether changes will be or not, I think, there will be and you will see them. Whether there will be major changes, I think at the moment there is no need for it since in 2018 we need to form a new government. In general, it is a very interesting period, in 2016 a government program, than in 2017 and in 2018 as well.
You will not find such three years during which it is necessary to approve the government program,” the PM said, adding that in 2018 the Constitution is going to put restrictions in terms of the government’s structure.
“And certain structural changes result in certain financial costs. That’s why we won’t make major structural changes, just given the logic”, he said. Asked whether he is satisfied with the work done by his team in previous months, Karapetyan expressed confidence that they are on a right path.
“Many complain that we bring greater problems than can be implemented. But perhaps we will always be dissatisfied with paces, there is not going to be a moment when we will say that we are satisfied from everything. When that moment comes when you are satisfied from everything, it means that something is wrong,” he said.
