Israel’s MFA summons Turkish Ambassador

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel summoned Ambassador of Turkey to Tel Aviv Kemal Okem over the recent remarks by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the Israeli legislation that will ban the use of loudspeakers by mosques in the country, demokrathaber.org reports.

On April 8 President Erdogan called on Muslims to visit al-Aksa mosque in Jerusalem as much as possible. Erdogan also criticized the bill to limit the use of loudspeakers by mosques. Erdogan called this bill as an insult to Muslims.

The Israeli MFA commented on Erdogan’s remarks stating: “The one who constantly violates human rights in his country must not give lessons of morality and democracy in the region.”
