Erdogan support rallies banned in Brussels by mayor
Brussels Mayor Yvan Mayeur announced he won’t allow any gathering or event in the city in support for Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
According to Diken, the Mayor’s statement came after media reports that Erdogan will arrive in Brussels for the NATO summit 12-14 hours earlier than expected.
“I will also officially notify the Turkish authorities. The organization of a small celebration in Brussels by Erdogan is out of question,” he said. The mayor said he is concerned that the supporters and opposition of Erdogan might clash.
