Argam Abrahamyan steps down as Artashat Mayor
Mayor of Artashat Argam Abrahamyan, the son of former prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan, has resigned. In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Abrahamyan mentioned that he worked with great devotion and responsibility, not sparing efforts to realize his promises to Artashat’s citizens and improving the town, tert.am reports.
“I won’t argue that I’ve implemented all my desires and dreams for our city, but a lot has been done with the joints efforts of myself and Artashat’s citizens. I am stepping down from this highly responsible post, for assuming a more difficult responsibility as a Member of Parliament for serving my city, my province and my country,” the former Mayor namely said in the statement.
Argam Abrahamyan was elected to the Parliament under the regional list of Tsarukyan bloc. 34,415 citizens had cast their ballots for Argam Abrahamyan in the Ararat province.
