Armenia to lift visa requirement for Qatari citizens
Armenia will lift visa requirements for citizens of Qatar, with the relevant bill included in the Cabinet meeting’s June 1 agenda. The decision comes as the multilateral cooperation and ties between Armenia and Qatar are progressing yearly.
The number of both tourists and business travelers from the region is increasing. Currently, Qatar Airways is operating flights to Yerevan, and increasing the number of flights is being mulled. The significant growth of Qatari tourist visits to Armenia is also seen. The main visits are tourism oriented, however interest exists for real estate, agriculture and healthcare investments also.
The Cabinet’s decision will enable citizens of Qatar to visit and stay in Armenia for a maximum of 180 days within one year without entry visa. This agreement was reached between Armenia and Qatar during Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Qatar in May.
