The corpse seller
Yesterday Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared that on December 19, Armenia will declare three days of mourning to commemorate those who fell in the war. Nikol Pashinyan said December 19th marks the 40th day following the agreement signed on November 9th and added that this is why the mourning will be declared on December 19th. There were talks about the need to declare mourning in Armenia right after the signing of the capitulation agreement signed on November 9th, which marked the 40th day following the deaths of those who died during the first days of the war.
However, the authorities were adamant. In response to the demands to declare mourning, they didn’t even hint that they were going to declare mourning. Apparently, the reason for this was that, as in all cases, including this case, Nikol Pashinyan was guided by the impulsion to make the mourning serve his political goals. Nikol Pashinyan himself showed that declaring mourning serves his political goals when he informed that a mourning march to Yerablur Military Pantheon would also be held on that day. This is pure politics, better yet, dirty, immoral politics.
It is very likely that, with this march, Nikol Pashinyan has decided to organize a counterdemonstration against the demonstration of those who are demanding his resignation and to show that the number of people supporting him is higher than the number of people demanding his resignation.
Again, this is very dirty and immoral, and it is based on the calculation that the parents, relatives and friends of the fallen and missing soldiers, that is, thousands and perhaps tens of thousands of citizens will take part in the mourning march which Nikol Pashinyan might lead.
This hasn’t been announced yet, and the reason why is probably because the authorities want to check the public’s response. If it becomes clear that many citizens are preparing to participate in the mourning march, Nikol Pashinyan will appear in front of the people and lead the march at the last minute, and he will obviously be accompanied by several hundreds of bodyguards. Basically, the man whose incompetent or treacherous policy took the lives of at least 5,000 people wants to make the commemoration of those victims serve his faint-hearted political goals.
Nikol Pashinyan seeks political dividends everywhere.
Nikol Pashinyan is making the priceless memory of the deceased sons of the Armenian nation serve the cheap goal to maintain power.
Nikol Pashinyan is either trading goals and mourning or selling corpses.
