Kocharyan: Our alliance pursues political bid to build a strong Armenia
Second President Robert Kocharyan elaborated on his political team’s mission and vision on Wednesday as he met with voters of the Aragatsotn region in the town of Ashtarak to introduce their pre-election platform.
The leader of Armenia Alliance said they decided to join the electoral race with the political bid to build a strong country.
“Armenia Alliance joined the campaign with one single objective: to have a strong Armenia. Everyone is dominated by the same feeling today, i.e. – that the country has been left unattended. And no activity can practically follow its regular track under such conditions. Hence after June 20, we are required to re-establish the feeling that Armenia is not unattended at all,” he said.
Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaksutyun (ARF-D) who was accompanying the ex-president, blamed the current authorities for undermining the country “through lies and manipulation” over the past three years since acceding to power. “After the crucial defeat in the [Nagorni-Karabakh] war, this government of evil should have quit, but they requested six months to mend the situation. Nothing was done at all, with the situation changing from bad to worse. This government of evil must quit. We do have the strength and will, the program and its realization potential to retun our country on its regular track,” he added.
