Pashinyan’s police were instructed to use violence
Police are using unprecedented brute force against violent protesters who resumed early this morning, using violence – bodily serious injuries to the participants of the peaceful actions. The Red Berets (the special forces of the RA Police) beat one of the protesters thus the citizen fainted because of the blow.
The peaceful marches of disobedience enshrined in the RA Constitution, the protests, the blocking of the streets, and other actions with the citizens are led by the deputies of the NA opposition parties, as well as many of the former deputies of the Republican Party of Armenia.
Today, Armen Ashotyan, the vice president of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), was again taken to the Mashtots Police Department by force. He has been in the Mashtots police station for more than an hour.
Yesterday, as we mentioned earlier, despite the warnings about the health issues around the neck, the Red Berets were trying very hard to put Armen Ashotyan into the car and bring him in, twisting the arms, pressing his head, applying brute force around the neck.
Former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, member of the RPA Executive Body Eduard Sharmazanov, former RPA MP, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit Affairs Gagik Minasyan, former Speaker of the National Assembly Samvel Nikoyan were also detained today. The former head of Davitashen district Ruslan Baghdasaryan was brought by the Red Berets near the Cascade, he was on the pavement, and was taken to the Mashtots police department.
During the peaceful disobedience actions, the police used particularly brutal force against the current deputies of the National Assembly, deputies of the opposition “Armenia” alliance Vahe Hakobyan and Artsvik Minasyan.
As of 10:45, 277 participants of the action were detained. “The citizens were detained for the act provided for in Article 182 of the Code of Criminal Procedure”, – the Public Relations and Information Department of the RA Police informed the media.
