Situation around Gandzasar Going Tense
A couple of Facebook users alerted about the ongoing battles around Gandzasar, Artsakh. Facebook user Artur Grigoryan wrote:
“At this very moment, the Azeri have advanced quite a bit around Gandzasar region. There are no battles going on.”
In a conversation with the media, the press service of the Defense Army of the Republic of Artsakh confirmed the information about the tense situation, urging to wait for the official information.
A little while ago, official information was released that the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan convened a meeting with the participation of the officials of the power structures, today, August 1.
“Defense Minister KamoVardanyan made a report on the operational-tactical situation on the frontline. After the edgy discussion, President Harutyunyan gave a number of urgent instructions to the attendees. The meeting was attended by Karen Shahramanyan, the Chief of the Office of the Artsakh Republic President, and VitaliBalasanyan, the Secretary of the Security Council,” the report said.
The Artsakh sources of 168.am confirm that the Azerbaijani side tried to advance in several directions in Artsakh.
The situation has become somehow tense, at the moment the peacekeepers are negotiating to put the situation in order.
Referring to the incident, Tigran Abrahamyan, deputy of the NA “PativUnem” (I Have Honor) opposition alliancewroteon his Facebook page a few minutes ago:
“In the morning, I presented some observations/concerns regarding the military-political situation formed around Artsakh and Armenia, based on which I pointed out 2 main directions of possible scenario development: conditional surrender of territories or Azerbaijani blackmail.
A little while ago, the president of Artsakh, with the participation of the leaders of the power structures, called a meeting, during which the commander of the Armed Forces made a report on the operational-tactical situation on the frontline.
The main point and remarkable wording of the official message is that the president “gave a number of IRREVOCABLE orders”.
In the depths, and meanwhile, behind the scenes, the issues are popping up, which can have serious consequences for Armenia and Artsakh.”
According to the news circulating in Artsakh, there is a significant increase in tension in the northern part of Artsakh, the situation is assessed as tough.
According to information, the tension is in the following directions: Nareshtar section leading to Martakert, Gandzasar forests, as well as Yegtsahoghi direction from the section below Shushi. Yertsahogh village is located in Yeghtsahogh community of Shushi region of the Republic of Artsakh.
