Hayk Mamijanyan introduced the message of political prisoner Armen Ashotyan during a special discussion on the Artsakh issue in the EPP

Within the framework of the EPP political assembly, a special discussion on the Artsakh issue was held at Raffi Hovhannisyan’s initiative, the founder of the “Heritage” party. During the discussion, I presented the message of RPA vice-president, political prisoner Armen Ashotyan.

Hereinafter, I present the Armenian translation of an extract from it.

But my personal situation is overshadowed by humanitarian crisis and unfolding disaster in Nagorno-Karabakh, where 120000 people, including children and elderly, are on the edge of the starvation and due to flagrant disrespect of international law and genocidal polices of Azerbaijan. This is a genocide – fair and simple. In the 21st century, in Artsakh which is a gateway to the Christian world Azerbaijan is committing a genocide and the only way to stop the Azeri dictator is to pose personal and state level sanctions on them. I do believe that politics is first of all about values. So let’s show the people of Artsakh that they are not alone in their sacred fight for self-determination.

Even from “Nubarashen” penitentiary Armen Ashotyan continues to serve Artsakh and Armenia with his international connections.

I also presented the assembly with information about the Azerbaijani aggression of the last days and the supply of ammunition to Azerbaijan.
