Poll: which political powers will appear in the parliament?

The polls conducted within the Armenian public ahead of the parliamentary election show that 50% of people will definitely take part in the election, and 35% said they will likely go to voting, reports Armenpress. Several days before the election, two parties, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Tsarukyan alliance, enjoy the great support of voters: 30.2% of voters (35.6% of the likely voters) are ready to vote in favor of the RPA, and 29.1% (or 34.2% of the likely voters) are ready to vote in favor of Tsarukyan alliance.

The poll was conducted by Armenian Sociological Association and Gallup International organization. The polls show that the RPA improved positions based on the electoral potential of ranking candidates. The polls also reveal that the RPA also passed Tsarukyan alliance in terms of party rating.

While presenting the poll results, Chairman of Armenian Sociological Association Gevorg Poghosyan said the survey contained a question on ranking candidates, and 31.7% supported RPA’s all ranking candidates, while for Tsarukyan bloc candidates 21.8%. According to poll results, 3-4 parties and alliance that enjoy less voter support, can also have seats in the Parliament.

“Those are the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, Armenian Revival party and Yelk alliance,” he said, adding that majority of likely voters, 63.4%, already decided whom they will vote for. Gallup representative Rasa Alisauskiené said the Armenian voters are rather interested in the upcoming election.

“The poll results show that social-economic issues, jobs and living standards remain the most concerning for the public,” Rasa Alisauskiené said.

The polls were conducted within 1005 people, face to face from March 18-27. On April 2 Gallup International will also conduct an Exit Poll
