Fine Art Center is in the first place on “Art Monaco-Expo” list
On April 23, the Fine Art Center, the delegation of Masterpiece Gallery will leave for Monaco to participate in the Art Monaco Expo world exhibition to be held on April 25-28.
Let’s mention that this Expo is considered the highest rostrum for many renowned artists from galleries and exhibition from the world. It creates an opportunity for them to create links and networks.
The founder of the Fine Art Center Armine Kocharyan finds it a real achievement to see that the Fine Art center is on the top chart of the Art Monaco Expo. And it is included in both the leaflets and the official webpage. “On the list there are indeed Armenians from Beirut our colleague Movses Hergenyan, from Russia, USA. They represent their galleries,” says Kocharyan and assured that over 100 famous painters and artists from around the world had applied to participate in the expo.
There are two circumstances that caused the participation of the Fine Art Center in the Expo. First, the Center has created a quite fertile ground of cooperation with the management of Art Monaco Expo and besides the piece submitted to the Expo was considered the best. Let’s remember that last year among the other pieces the Fine Art Center was able to exhibit a painting of Yervand Kochar from 1927 attained from France. This piece has created a big sensation within the Expo.
After the wrap-up of results the Fine Art Center won the prize for the best art piece presenter. Let’s also note that last year Kochar’s piece was considered the symbol of the Expo. It was printed on all stands and materials of the Expo. It was posted both in Grivald center and in all other remarkable spots of Monaco, even the hotels. According to A. Kocharyan, unlike the last year this year the Fine Art Center will present not the pieces of Kochar or Ayvazovsky but the pieces of Janssen, Felix Yeghiazaryan, Varuzhan Vardanyan, Ayvaz Avoyan, Robert Elibekyan, Rafael Megal, Seyran Khatlamajyan, etc. “We won’t take our whole pallet to Monaco because the Expo is a good place for networking rather than exhibiting.
We already have an agreement with Janssen’s son, Jean because we cooperated with the gallery in Paris based on a contract signed between us. According to the agreement with Jean we will exhibit the best pieces of Janssen. Unfortunately, we won’t be taking Garzou because it is a little more difficult with his son. We didn’t even succeed ion meeting with him.
We weren’t even able to meet him. In this sense, the work with his son it’s easier to cooperate with his son. Robert Elibekyan’s Jangyulum piece will be exhibited, which is a real miracle. Let me mention that not all the pieces will be on sale there, because we have separate goals for each and everyone of them,” says Kocharyan and assures that the Armenian paining art can be interesting to the world if it is demonstrated in the right manner and time. He reminds that the best Armenian painters were “lost” because they were not exhibited and presented to the world in the right manner.
Today, the Fine Art Center, after examining the field, is trying to find and raise those painters, who have the language of painting, good sensing and a new word to say. “The roots of our painting are very powerful – a nation of painters, such as Surenyants, Kochar, Gorky, Tutunjyan, Yeghishe Tadevosyan, Bazhbeuk Melikyan, Terlemezyan, doesn’t have the right to have the lack of talented artists. The trick is to present what we have in the right manner and light,” said Kocharyan and emphasized that the expectation of the Art Monaco Expo from the Fine Art Center is to raise the level of Armenian painters. By the way, in Monaco the Center will also be represented by Minas Avetisyan, Ashot Harutyunyan, Khachatur Martirosyan, Leo Leo, Kamo Gyanjyan and other authors of graphic art. The founder of the Center is sure that this year as well the Fine Art Center will have success. Kocharyan mentions that this year the Mayor of Yereven Taron Margaryan will contribute the Center’s participation. The founder of the Center promised to be in touch with 168-Zham from Monaco and provide fresh updates about the Expo.
“The import and export of paintings is a hideous issue”
By the way, the Fine Art Masterpiece Gallery will also participate in an exhibition of Columbia on April 26.
The Masterpiece Gallery has received a special invitation and Armenia will be given a pavilion and a stand for the pieces. “I should mention that this is a result of big credit because we receive an invitation from the other end of the world and they trust us to send only the pieces. Nobody will fly there to represent us.
Our participation in Monaco’s exhibition gave us lots of success. We already have an invitation to participate in the international festival to be held in Moscow. It is a quite big and serious festival, where prominent participant partake,” says the founder of the Center by also speaking about moving pieces to Armenia.
He assures that importing paintings to Armenia and exporting is a great difficulty. It is much easier to circulate a painting in the world than importing it to Armenia. According to A. Kocharyan, importing and exporting a painting to Armenia is a hideous issue. “All our laws impede us to import and export paintings. You travel the whole world with a painting and nobody inquires into the matter. While in Armenia they demand a paper from the council, import papers, list…
It is not Azerbaijan and Turkey that blockaded us but we did it to ourselves. When you are importing a painting to Armenia you have to go to the Ministry of Culture, you should ask an expert to come and evaluate it.
Then you should submit these papers. We don’t have any complaints from the Customs service because they are doing their job well but it takes them 2-3 days to allow the import of a painting,” fairly complains Kocharyan and urges the officials of the sector to fully reform the process of importing and exporting. “Art develops where it is a chance but when it is chocked nothing can work. Our young men are going to paint abroad. Today participating in foreign exhibitions is almost impossible because the transportation of pieces is a difficult process,” says Kocharyan and urges the painters that cooperate with foreign galleries not to be too ambitious with the prices of their pieces.
