Everybody is waiting
At present certain unnoticeable processes are taking place in the seemingly quite Armenian internal political life. And its main participants are not only non-government forces but also very often government party representatives from different wings. The ground of these processes is the expectation of Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union. However, after September in fact no serious change has ever taken place in Armenia besides the replacement of Prosecutor-General and Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan’s orders to change heads of police precincts almost every day. In the meantime, those forces and government wings that have been blessing the statement of September 3 expect that Moscow should pay back for their commitment and by doing so punish the ones, who have been praising the EU initiative. The latter perfectly realize this threat and it’s no accident that they are asking to rush up the membership to the Customs Union. Right now in Armenia the political struggle goes in the direction as who from both government and opposition is most loyal to the “Russian line.”
