The RA Supervisory Committee (SC) has published an annual report for 2013. The report includes a lot of violations, however, some of them are new due to their nature. These new findings concern offshore companies that misspent funds of the Armenian budget.
Tigran Sargsyan is well-known as an opponent to Armenia’s membership to the Union. However, he obeyed the decision of September 3 as a statesman. In order to be successful within the Customs Union it is necessary to get rid first of all of the internal opposition. If you want to get in the water make sure you swim, if not don’t go in there. Everything is clear.
The reasons of former PM Tigran Sargsyan’s resignation are not external factors. Armen Kharazyan, expert of international relations and former deputy Ambassador of Armenia to the United States, who resides in Washington now, shared this opinion with 168 Zham and added the United States was not involved in replacing Armenian Prime-Ministers and would not need it either.
In the first year of Tigran Sargsyan’s office (2008) Armenia’s GDP was 6.8%, which was lower by several points than the planned level. In 2009 as the economy was hit by the financial crisis the slump was 14.1%, followed by slow recovery. In 2010 there was 2.2% growth, in 2011 – 4.7%, and in 2012 – 7.2%. In 2013 the planned growth was 7% (as instructed by the president) but the real growth reached 3.5% only.
The Emabssy of the United States of America made a comment for 168.am concerning PM Tigran Sargsyan’s resignition. “We have successfully worked with former Prime Minister Sargsian on a wide range of issues of bilateral interest and welcome the opportunity to work with and support the reform efforts of Armenia’s next Prime Minister”.
Twelve years ago something happened, which seemed to be not so important at that time. According to ArmenPress, on October 23, 2002, the RA Central Bank and its counterparts from Germany, in cooperation with the UN Education, Science and Culture office in Germany, initiated a memorandum of understanding between the Lorsch Church of Germany and Geghard Church of Armenia.
Will Serz Sargsyan leave the power to Robert Kocharyan or Levon Ter-Petrosyan? This question may seem strange as both of the previous presidents are in evident or hidden rival against the current president.
The question is how it should occur and where, especially the important thing for developing countries is the question of where the money comes from. Not all countries are able to ensure the well being of their populations, feed the work force. So, be careful with such statements.
“The voting of Armenia regarding the Crimea conflict at the UN GA was a real shame for Armenia. Nothing like that has ever happened during our independence period. We have never appeared in such a slave status,” yesterday stated NA MP, former foreign affairs minister Alexander Arzumanyan.
“The reason why Armenia voted against the resolution on Crimea at the UN General Assembly was highly connected with the NKR conflict and the influence of Russia,” told our reporter an expert of the Global Insight analytic center Lilit Gevorgyan. “Armenia is considered as a satellite state of Russia and indeed it is no news for Europe and US that Armenia is not a very independent state and doesn’t have a free foreign policy,” she said.
