In Armenia VAT not to be charged for cars imported from EEU
Armenian citizens will no more pay value-added tax (VAT) for the cars imported from the countries of Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). For that purpose Armenian government made additions to one of the previous decisions and approved the Armenian Republic’s draft law on making amendments and additions to the law of the Republic of Armenia on “Value-added tax” and considered the aforesaid as an urgent issue.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia Vache Gabrielyan said that due to the project, VAT transitional provisions for taxation on the cars, imported from the EEU countries by our citizens, will be abolished and Armenian citizens will not have to pay the VAT. Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan in his turn said that once a year the person, importing a car for his/her personal use, can be exempted from VAT payment.
