President Convenes Consultation over Issues of Armenian-Austrian Agenda

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan gave a start to a series of consultations with the Ambassadors and Heads of Missions of the Republic of Armenia abroad at the Presidential Palace last week. On February 26 the President conveyed another consultation over relations with Austria with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Austria Arman Kirakosian as the keynote speaker. As “168.am” was informed from the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of Republic of Armenia President’s Office, Finance Minister Gagik Khachatryan, Head of the Armenia-Austria Friendship Group MP Vahram Baghdasaryan , Deputy Foreign Minister Ashot Hovakimyan and members of President’s Staff attended the consultation.

The meeting discussed in detail the agenda of the Armenian-Austrian relations, current activities and future plans. Given the fact that the Ambassador Kirakosian is also the head of the Armenian mission in a number of international organizations in Vienna, it was also discussed prospects for the country’s cooperation with those international organizations.

At the beginning of the discussion, President Sargsyan presented the concerns of the government on the agenda, the history of relations between Armenia and Austria, aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, the importance of economic cooperation.

Ambassador Kirakosyan presented a report on all the mentioned matters, including the works carried out by the embassy and its results.

At the end of the meeting, President Serzh Sargsyan gave relevant instructions to those present at the consultation and the relevant authorities regarding the discussed issues, problems and programs.
