The Deceased Archbishop David Sahakean a Pedophile?— Le Progrès
“Nor Yaraj” periodical published in France, referring to a French source, reports on an archbishop in the episcopate of Lyon. The periodical refers to French “Le Progrès” magazine, according to which, “Meanwhile the episcopate in Lyon faces serious allegations of pedophilia, another temptation emerged inside the church.”
It refers David Archbishop Sahakean, the news on his passing away was found in the magazine’s columns. Continuing its citation, “Nor Yaraj” noted that 22 July 2013 a young man submitted and appeal on sexual assault and rape, which according to the young man occurred in Jerusalem in 1990, in that period Archbishop David was serving there. According to the news, at that time the victim was 13, and he gives detailed information on the case. 22 January 2015 the Armenian priest was examined and judicial investigation has been launched.
And 22 February 2016 the prosecution announced its accusation final and passed on the case to the court of criminal appeal, on accusation of sexual assault against a 15 year-old young man. In the moment when it was expected on announcement of the trial, the Archbishop passed away. The newspaper reports, by that the case might have been closed. However, the victim, someone called Hrayr, decided to spread the issue on friendship nets, so that it wasn’t ignored, and according to his advocate maitre Pouvier-le Parre, “So that likewise cases didn’t repeat once again.”
“Le Progrès” also reports that current pastor of Lyon is shocked with this news. The magazine adds that the victim accuses two other priests for the same reason, stressing that sexual assault continued till he was 19.
