Bundestag Resolution will Promote Armenian-Turkish Dialogue: Ambassador

Ambassador of Germany to Armenia Matthias Kiesler hopes that the Bundestag resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide will promote the Armenian-Turkish dialogue.

“In previous years there were initiatives of establishing dialogue between the societies of two states, however, this resolution will give a new opportunity to further promote that dialogue. In the medium term the resolution aims to update the steps that were successfully made in 2009 in favor of the resumption of dialogue between Armenia and Turkey. The resolution also supposes that Germany must take efforts to make this issue widely discussed within the Turkish civil society, as well as the Turkish government,” Ambassador said to journalists.
