As long as negotiations are underway, it’s necessary to be guided by the principle “do not harm”: Eduard Sharmazanov
“Today number one task is to reach a peaceful solution to the problem. Today it’s not proper touching upon claims. Today it’s necessary to reach to the point that the issue had possible peaceful solution,” Eduard Sharmazanov, RPA spokesperson, RA NA Vice President, told after RPA Executive Body meeting.
He stated that NSS has periodically appeared with official statements, it’s a part of the leadership. According to Eduard Sharmazanov, Deputy Police Chief Hunan Poghosyan has also spoken. He stated, that negotiations, discussions are underway, and it’s necessary to use all the mechanisms to avoid another bloodshed. He stated that he is not the official to touch upon the negotiations’ details, and he doesn’t consider that it should be introduced before media outlets—as long as negotiations are underway, it’s necessary to be guided by the principle “do not harm.”
To the question whether they felt their guilt to lead people to such a condition that people strive to regime change through this means, Eduard Sharmazanov replied he didn’t want to speak of the details. “As for my culpabilities…I’m not a saint, I have lots of faults, shortcomings and let the one throw a stone first who’s not guilty,” he said. He stated that solving problems by force is not approved in any democratic state, from the USA to Japan.
“We, as the leadership, will do everything possible to avoid shedding of blood of our compatriots in our capital, in our country. Much Armenian blood has been shed. None of us is insured from wrongdoing. The best way is the dialogue and listening to one another,” he concluded.
