The press conference of the members of Founding Parliament initiative and “Sasna Tsrer” armed group in the territory of Police patrol regiment has finished a while ago. After the press conference Vitaly Balasanyan, Artsakh hero, visited the territory, who replied to the reporters’ questions.
“We reached to a crucial point that for the time being the situation is calm both by the law enforcement and the young men. I think this is the biggest pledge to our success, and I’m sure, both the authorities and our armed group will maintain calmness,” Vitaly Balasanyan told reporters, ensuring that everything will be “peacefully” organized.
Touching upon the question why he appeared there, Vitaly Balasanyan said it’s his country, and there are young men in the armed group, with whom they fought together during the war, and he couldn’t refrain. He stated that nobody asked him, he considered being present there his responsibility.
He stated that together with Jirair Sefilian they discussed the issue of putting down the arms.
“Sefilian positively reflected, he’s ready, however, Sefilian put forward a few issues, and respective bodies will reply to them,” Balasanyan said, adding that he can officially state that half an hour before Sefilian said he renounced the claim of Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation.
In his words, Jirar Sefilian doesn’t demand resignation of the president, he doesn’t demand, but he has proposals—release of “political prisoners,” change of the measure of Jirair Sefilian’s preventive punishment, release those detained throughout these days.
He stated that in the morning he was at president Serzh Sargsyan, who assigned the law enforcement not to apply force. To the question how long force won’t be applied, he replied,
“Until issues are solved peacefully, but I told in the morning, those, who will use arms, they’ll be punished.” He also added, that in a short period solution to the issue should be provided.
