Sayad wasn’t a Demonstrator, He was on His Way to the Uncle’s House: Sayad Harutyunyan’s Sister Provides Details on the Incident
As a result of yesterday’s clashes in Yerevan’s Sari Tagh district sister of 16 year-old Sayad Harutyunyan, who was deprived of an eye, Svetlana Harutyunyan told 168.am, that her bother didn’t have connection with the demonstrators.
“Sayad wasn’t a demonstrator, he was on his way to the uncle’s house, who was timely back from Moscow and was staying at a relative, living in Sari Tagh. As there were no routes for public transportation, they were closed, he decided to go on foot, not knowing there would be a protest on that part of the district. He didn’t manage to pass, as there were explosions. As a result, he received injury on the eye, which has been extracted. Doctors said he can’t see on that eye, however, they said steps will be initiated on prosthesis, and they’ll attempt to restore the eye through muscles. The eye has been totally extracted,” Svetlana said, adding that she saw her brother today and talked to him,
“He came to his consciousness and has pain in the area of the eye, but he is strong and gives us hope. Hopefully, everything will be ok.”
Sayad’s sister said he is a schoolboy, at the 11th grade, and next year he’ll leave the school. Svetlana also informed that expenses for Sayad’s operation and further treatment will be covered by the relatives.
