German Government Denies Information on Stepping back from Armenian Genocide Resolution
The Federal Republic of Germany denies the information spread by Spiegel journal which said the Government is going to make an official announcement over stepping back from the Armenian Genocide recognition resolution, Government’s Spokesperson Steffen Seibert said, the German Tagesschau reported.
Steffen Seibert said the Government is not going to keep itself away from the Bundestag resolution.
“The German Bundestag has a right and an opportunity to comment on any topic every time when needed. The Federal Government supports the German Parliament’s right to sovereignty”, Seibert said.
He said the Federal Government is not going to intervene in the responsibilities of any other constitutional body and comment on it.
